Painting furniture can be a tedious, time-consuming task. But it doesn’t have to be!
With the right paint sprayer in hand, painting furniture can be quick and easy. But which paint sprayer should you choose — the Wagner FLEXiO 3500 or the HomeRight Super Finish Max?
Wagner FLEXiO 3500 VS HomeRight Super Finish Max Paint Sprayer
Wagner and HomeRight paint sprayers are the perfect tools for DIY painters. They’re designed to help beginner painters get the job done quickly and efficiently. Learn more about them below.
Power and Performance
The Wagner FLEXiO 3500 has 500 watts of power, while the HomeRight Super Finish Max has 450 watts of power.
This difference in power means that the Wagner FLEXiO 3500 is more powerful than its competitor, but both of them are suited for larger projects or tasks that require a finer finish.
The Wagner also features a power switch on its handle, which keeps the motor running (no need to partially pull the trigger), preventing splattering, and making it easier to spray your furniture.
Accessories & Features
The Wagner FLEXiO 3500 comes with two nozzles and two cups—one for painting walls and fences and one for fine finishes and furniture.
The HomeRight Super Finish Max comes with three metal tips and two air caps, enabling you to narrow down the correct spray pattern you need for different projects.
They both can spray thick paint. You do not have to thin out the paint, but it will create a better-looking finish. Check out my list of the best paint for spraying furniture here.
They both also plug into extension cords, and they don’t need an air compressor to operate.
Cleaning
When it comes to cleaning up after use, both paint sprayers take about 5 to 10 minutes to clean.
But one key difference between cleaning them is that the Wagner FLEXiO 3500 is much easier to clean than HomeRight.

The HomeRight Super Finish Max requires more effort during cleanup because the motor doesn’t detach from the head/nozzle of the sprayer when cleaning.

With the Wagner, you can put the whole nozzle under running water to clean it, but you can’t put the HomeRight sprayer under water because it is attached to the motor.
So, you have to get more creative when cleaning it.

Wagner FLEXiO 3500 Paint Sprayer
The Wagner FLEXiO 3500 is a budget-friendly paint sprayer. It is extremely portable and features three spray patterns. It is also suitable for experts as well as beginners.

I have a professional paint sprayer, the Fuji Q4, and honestly, they both spray very similarly. You can read my Fuji Q4 paint sprayer review here.
The only thing the Wagner FLEXiO 3500 lacks is more settings to adjust the spray pattern. This plug-and-go sprayer needs only a power outlet to start working.
The only downside to Wagner FLEXiO 3500 is the shorter cord length. But either way, it would need to be plugged into an extension cord, so it’s not really that big of a deal.
Pros:
- Doesn’t need an air compressor
- Budget-friendly (around $185)
- 500 watts of power
- Very portable
- A plug-and-go sprayer (only needs a power outlet and an extension cord)
- Easy to clean
- Sprays a very fine finish
- Has 2 nozzles and 2 cups (one for painting walls and fences; and one for fine finishes and furniture)
- Can spray thick paint (but needs to be thinned out for a texture-free finish)
- The power switch keeps the motor running (no need to partially pull the trigger to activate the motor to prevent splattering)
Cons:
- Cord is short

HomeRight Super Finish Max Paint Sprayer
HomeRight’s Super Finish Max is a great paint sprayer designed to be both beginner-friendly and budget-friendly.
It has 3 metal tips and 2 air caps to change how it sprays. It also has 3 spray patterns to choose from – vertical, horizontal, and circular.
The HomeRight paint sprayer lets you adjust the width of the spray by changing out the air cap, and it clicks into place when turning to change the spray pattern. I love that feature!
This paint sprayer also doesn’t need an air compressor, making it a true “plug-and-go” sprayer. You only need a power outlet and an extension cord to make it work.
However, it also has a short cord. It is also more difficult to clean since the motor doesn’t detach from the head/nozzle of the sprayer.

Ultimately, if you’re looking for a paint sprayer that’s easy to use and produces great results without compromising on quality or spending too much money, either of these paint sprayers would serve you well!
However, if versatility is your main priority, then it might be worth investing in the slightly more expensive Wagner FLEXiO 3500. It is easier to clean than the HomeRight paint sprayer.
Whatever model you choose, though, you can get great results!

My personal favorite between the two, currently, is the Wagner 3500. Mostly because it is easy to clean, and I feel like I haven’t had any issues with it at all.

What tip do you normally use on home right super max? One of your videos seemed to show green. Thank you. Freda
I use either the blue or green tip, depending on how thick the paint is.
