Pros of the Wagner FLEXiO 5000

The Wagner FLEXiO 5000 is known for being easy to use, and lightweight on your hands. I was totally blown away by the minimal overspray, which means less paint getting in the air or the area around your project.

And let’s not forget about its smooth and fine finish that can make any DIY project look pro! Plus, this sprayer has a smaller head, perfect for tackling tight corners and hard-to-reach spots.

One of the defining characteristics of the FLEXiO 5000 is its weight. The actual sprayer that you have to hold while spraying is lightweight which allows for longer usage without the discomfort and tiredness that comes with heavier paint sprayers.

Plus, the hose is surprisingly flexible, making it a breeze to move around your workspace. It even warms up a bit during use, adding to its flexibility and ease of handling.

Cleaning with the FLEXiO 5000 is a piece of cake! You can easily take it apart for a thorough clean, which isn’t the case with all sprayers out there. Here is how to clean Wagner FLEXiO paint sprayers so you can see how easy they are to clean!

And an added bonus: it’s got storage space inside the motor area for the sprayer heads. So, you can keep everything in one spot and never worry about losing any parts!

Pros

  • Very little overspray!! I can barely tell it’s spraying because I could hardly see any overspray!
  • Very smooth spray, fine finish looks amazing!
  • Smaller head so you can get into tighter spaces without hitting the motor on something.
  • Lighter weight! So much lighter than the FLEXiO 3500 sprayer when spraying!
  • The hose is much more flexible than I thought it would be. Plus it warms up a little when you spray so it gets even more flexible.
  • Easy to clean like the other Wagner sprayers.
  • Storage space inside of the motor area for the sprayer heads

Cons of the Wagner Flexio 5000

Though the Wagner FLEXiO 5000 brings a lot to the table, it’s not without its drawbacks. First off, the whole unit it’s a bit on the larger side. This can make it a bit harder to move around, store and it takes up more space in your work area.

So, if you’re working on a larger project or in a smaller workspace, this could be a potential downside.

Second, it’s more expensive than some other models on the market. The higher price point might be a bit of a turn-off for DIYers on a budget, but it’s important to consider the value you’re getting for your money.

And finally, while the hose is flexible and easy-to-use, it can also get in the way occasionally. I only noticed this a couple of times during my time using the sprayer, but it’s something to be aware of. It’s not as bad as I imagined it would be by any means though!

Cons

  • The overall sprayer is much larger and takes more space in your work area while spraying.
  • More expensive
  • You have the hose, but honestly, it didn’t bother me more than once or twice when I was spraying.

I personally am used to holding the motor and the paint in my hand as I paint, and I don’t get tired from it, so I didn’t think I needed the 5000 sprayer. When it was on sale, I snatched it up so I could test it for you though!

If you’re worried about the 3500 being too heavy for you, or you want less overspray, then I think the 5000 is worth it.

But, if you want to save some money, I think the Wagner FLEXiO 3500 (also known as the 595) sprayer is worth it. It creates the same fine finish with the detail finish nozzle as the 5000.
