Before using Behr Spray Paint, make sure the surface that you’ll be painting is clean and free of dust and debris. It’s always best to lightly sand down the surface before applying any type of paint for better adhesion.

Behr spray paint will stick well on its own, but if you want to make it as durable and adhere as well as it can, spray on a coat of BIN shellac based primer or Zinsser 123 primer before painting. Let the primer dry before painting on the Behr spray paint.

Once dry, just shake the can for a minute or two and start spray painting away! It’s best to spray paint in even coats, and hold the can about 10 inches away from the surface while spraying.
Spray back and forth, creating very thin layers of paint. Then wait about 10 minutes between each coat to prevent runs or drips. Let it dry for at least 24 hours before lightly using the item. For the next month or so, be extra careful with it until it completely cures.
