The cost is similar to that of Rustoleum, so you won’t have to worry about breaking the bank.

And with its quick-drying formula, you’ll be able to work on your projects much faster than with some other brands.

However, there are some drawbacks to Krylon spray paint. One downside is that its Fusion line doesn’t have as good of coverage as other options.

How to Use Spray Paint

Using spray paint is relatively straightforward, but there are a few things you should keep in mind to make sure you get the best results.

First, prepare your workspace – make sure it’s well-ventilated, use drop cloths or newspapers to protect the surfaces and cover any areas that don’t need painting.

For best results, scuff sand your project with 220 grit sandpaper. Then clean off the dust. Learn about the importance of sanding before painting here.

For even better results, prime your surface with a primer like BIN shellac primer. It will help your spray paint stick even better.

(Yes, I know the spray paints say that there is a primer mixed into the paint, but it is just not the same.)

Then, shake the can of paint vigorously for at least a minute before using.

When you’re ready to start spraying, hold the can about ten to twelve inches away from the surface and move in a steady back-and-forth motion.

You may want to practice a few test sprays on an old piece of cardboard or newspaper first, so that you can get used to the feel and flow of the paint.

Before applying additional coats, let it dry for about fifteen minutes – this will ensure that each layer adheres properly. For a more detailed guide on using spray paint here’s our blog post about how to use spray paint!

Once your project is finished, let it cure for 24 hours before using it! Learn more about how to spray paint furniture here. Check out spray painted furniture ideas here.
